Make sure you have your wedding dress FIRST before you pick your veil. The veil should compliment your gown. Wedding veils can have one or two tiers/layers. The length and style of the veil you choose depends on the style of your wedding dress.
Elbow Length is very popular. It is generally used for gowns without a train and will enhance any detailing at or around the waist of the gown.
Fingertip Length can be worn with any full length gown. It is not recommended for gowns with a long train.
Cathedral Length veils will extend onto the floor at least six inches past the train for a very dramatic look.
